On Friday, March 14, Leather Working Group will team up with Brazilian environmental conservation NGO Imaflora and World Wildlife Fund for a special presentation at Asia-Pacific Leather Fair (APLF) in Hong Kong.
Titled ‘Implementing and Assessing Deforestation- and Conversion-Free Supply Chains in Brazil’s Amazon and Cerrado’, the event will include guest speaker Fernando Bellese, Senior Director of Beef and Leather Supply Chains at World Wildlife Fund, and Louise Nakagawa, who is Project Coordinator of Beef on Track at Imaflora.
The session will include discussions about how companies that source leather from Brazil can support suppliers in implementing their deforestation- and conversion-free (DCF) commitments, with a focus on Imaflora’s recently released "Guidance for Downstream Companies of Beef Processors Operating in the Amazon and Cerrado” document.
Taking place in Room N106-N108 of Hong Kong’s Convention and Exhibition Center, this exclusive partnership between Leather Working Group, Imaflora and World Wildlife Fund will also demonstrate how to apply the Beef on Track and Cerrado Protocols to strengthen supply chain transparency and compliance.
This event is open to everyone and is separate to our Stakeholder Meeting that we will also host at this year’s APLF. We only have 120 places available for this unique presentation, so please click here to register and reserve your place.
