On Monday, February 10, 2025, Leather Working Group will participate in a 90-minute webinar led by the World Wildlife Fund in partnership with the OECD Forum on Due Diligence in the Garment and Footwear Sector.
Featuring a four-person panel that will explore how companies can accelerate the transition to more sustainable leather supply chains, this discussion will focus on the actions and experiences of participating organisations in addressing how deforestation and ecosystem conversion are linked to cattle ranching and leather production.
Executive Director, Vanessa Podmore, will be representing Leather Working Group at the event, which is titled Side Session: Strengthening Due Diligence in Leather Supply Chains and Advancing More Sustainable Strategies.
Leading the session will be Fernando Bellese, who is Senior Director of Beef and Leather Supply Chains at WWF US; he will also be joined by Mauricio Bauer, Program Officer at Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation; and Anna Heaton, who is Fiber and Materials Strategy Lead at Textile Exchange.
